KG Section
The Beginning School Education is the first big step into formal education. The two years at Kindergarten provide children an opportunity to initiate, explore, and adapt to the learning environment. The curriculum design permits wide scope for the children to promote creativity, curiosity, determination, and independence. The children learn alphabets, numbering and nature through oral, written and inter active sections. The audio visual room is exclusively available for KG. It entertains the children with music, rhymes and interesting stories. The KG play area with interesting play items provide the children an enjoyable and pleasant play time.
Above all we provide the sense of security and consistency in development to the children in these formative years.
Primary
Primary schooling prepares students from grade 1 to 5. All activities at primary level are designed to enable students to become inquisitive, communicative and confident young learners. We develop our students’ confidence in communicating ideas to others through developing appropriate activities in speaking, listening, reading and writing. Our children learn English, Mathematics, Environmental Studies, Second language either Tamil or Hindi.
Each student’s achievements are continually assessed. Teachers use a variety of assessment techniques including testing for knowledge and skills, observations, portfolios of students’ work and analysis of notebook, project and practical work. Attitude, learning skills, social relationships and efforts are considered equally important when looking at the overall development of the child.
Detailed descriptive reports are given to parents two times a year at the end of terms and Parent Teachers meeting is held once in a month to discuss on students’ social and academic progress.
The children also learn Computer Science, Art & Craft, Physical Education, Visual & Performing Art. Third language is offered from class 3. Tamil is a compulsory language offered to all students from class 1 onwards. Life skills taught through practical workshop enables children to be analytical and develop on self realisation.
Secondary School
At Glazebrooke, we recognize and address the broad range of needs of young adolescent learners. We pay particular attention in supporting the emotional, social, physical and academic needs of all our developmental adolescents. Our qualified staff memories are caring, experienced and well trained to encourage the best from this special age group. The students in Grade 6 to Grade 9 receive instruction in courses : Language 1 English, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Language 2 Hindi / Tamil, Physical Education and Yoga.
The rigorous assessment techniques- periodic, term end assessment using various assessment techniques like quiz, presentation, project work, group discussions, interviewing techniques, traditional written and oral test, recitation, it helps students to acquire knowledge and confidence in the subjects they learn.
Life skill teaching and assessment provide a platform for the children to develop their communication skill, inter personal skills, thinking ability, decision making ability and their skills to respond and adapt to changing scenario.
Senior Secondary
Senior Secondary School students need to have a well-rounded, happy experience at school so they can learn independently, develop resilience, confidence and maturity before stepping out into the world. Senior School at Glazebrooke provides students the opportunity to identify their areas of strength and pursue an academic programme that is best suited to their learning style, inclination, and which is in alignment with their long term goals. The aim is to give the learner a sound foundation in conceptual knowledge and in the skills of application, analysis and higher order thinking. Mathematics, Science, Computer Science and Business Stream are offered.
